Introduction to Sea Kayak Expeditioning (2 day)

So you've done some sea kayaking and you like the idea of loading up your camping gear and heading off from the beach around the headland to see where the journey takes you, unloading your kit to cook over a stove and watching the sun go down, chatting with new friends about the days activity.

This two day introduction to expeditioning will show you what you need and how to pack it in your boat. You'll experiment with stove cooking and sleeping on a wild camp site.

We run these courses at various times and in various locations in the UK throughout the year so get in contact to discuss some details. If there are two of you we could run a personal course for you both.

The cost includes boats and equipment, camping gear and food.

Prerequisite ability: BCU 1 star with some sea kayak experience or ----------------------Beginner Sea Kayak Course
Cost: £150 Duration: 2 days Dates: Various - Contact Us

Isle of Wight Circumnavigation (3 Day)

The circumnavigation may start in Wooton Creek with packing boats and instruction on paddling with loaded boats. We then head off in to the Solent tidal flows where we will head west towards the Needles and our 1st camp spot of Freshwater. The second day covers the south coast of the Island and we pass under the St Catherine's point lighthouse and its tidal race, camping that night will be near Bembridge, with the third day being the shortest day back round to our starting location taking in one or two of the Solent's forts en-route.

The cost includes boats, equipment and camping gear. It can, if you wish, also include training or assessment for the new BCU 3* Sea Kayak award.

It also includes all travel while on the Island including pick up's and drop off's at ferries.

The fittness level for this trip should not be underestimated - in order to complete the trip you will need to have good level of kayaking fittness - 8 hour paddling days are not uncommon in order to get around in the alloted time.

It should also be noted that as with any expedition, conditions change and plans may have to be adapted as we go.

The Jurassic Tour (3 Day)

Dorsets Jurassic coast is a world famous heritage site, with countless sites of special scientific interest, both from a wildlife point of view and a geological perspective. There are some sights that as a sea kayaker are unmissable, and some that are only viewable as a sea kayaker!

We will take three days to paddle from Cowes on the Island, via the Needles, Poole Harbor, Old Harry Rocks, and Lulworth Cove to Weymouth sleeping on wild camp sites along the way. We will experience areas of rough water along the way with opportunities to get out and look at the fascinating coastline up close.

You will be accompanied by a highly qualified coach/guide who knows the coast, and its geology and wildlife intimately. While this is designed as a guided course we will look at trip planning, boat handling and other expedition skills along the way and as such is suitable for a first sea kayak expedition.
