Terms and Conditions
This page
details the terms and conditions that Isle of Wight Sea
Kayaking operate; Isle of Wight Sea Kayaking may be described
as IWSK or the Company in this document.
Individual Bookings

-
Places
can only be reserved by the IWSK receiving a completed
booking form and a non-refundable deposit of 25% of
the course fee or a completed booking form plus an official
purchase order issued by a recognised buying authority
confirming acceptance of our terms and conditions upon
which we will issue an invoice for the full amount of
the course. . Cheques can be made payable to Isle of
Wight Sea Kayaking or direct payment to – Barclays
Bank, Sort Code 20-60-55, Account No. 53903219.

The
balance should reach IWSK no later than 30
days before the course date. If the balance
is not received by the specified date, IWSK reserve
ther ight to cancel the booking and the deposit
will be forfeited. Delays in payment will only be
accepted if previously agreed with IWSK. Booking
accepted after the balance due date can be secured
with a payment of the full course cost.

Provisional
bookings must be confirmed by payment of a 25% non-refundable
deposit within 14 days of the date of the provisional
booking letter except when a purchase order from an approved
buying authority is issued.

Bookings
confirmed by an approved purchase order will be invoiced
for the total as per the provisional booking letter, 25%
of the total will be a non-refundable deposit.
- IWSK reserve the right to
cancel any course where conditions prevent safe participation
or where insufficient bookings or participant cancellation
make the course unworkable. If IWSK need to cancel a course
for any reason, booked participants will be entitled to
a full refund. Participants will be invited to transfer
to another course. Should the participant wish to take up
the offer of a transfer, any difference in cost will be
invoiced or credited accordingly.
- Participants wishing to cancel
a course 14 days or less will incur a cancellation charge
of 50% of the course fee.
- Travel arrangements/bookings
are at the individual’s discretion. IWSK accept no
liability for cancelled travel bookings and costs.
- Any participant under the
age of 18 years must have the explicit permission of his/her
parent or guardian before being able to take part in any
activity/course offered by IWSK. The parent or guardian
need to be aware and accept the risks involved in adventure
activities and satisfy themselves accordingly.
- Participants have a responsibility
to inform IWSK of any medical issues that may impact on
the safety of themselves or the group. I am also aware that
I am to inform IWSK of any medical issue that may arise
between my booking and the course commencing.
- Participants should be aware
that canoeing and other outdoor activities are ‘assumed
risk water contact sports’ that carry attendant risks.
I am aware of and accept these risks and I will be responsible
for my own actions and involvement.
- Participants should be aware that all activities
are weather dependent and are liable to cancellation due
to severe weather or dangerous sea conditions.
Group Bookings

- All group bookings are liable
to the same terms and conditions as Individual Bookings.
The group leader shall be considered responsible for booking
arrangements and associated payments.
- Where the course booked is
a BCU qualification course requiring pre-requisites an IWSK
form will be sent out and will be required to be completed
no less than 2 weeks proir to the course.

Students
on courses are responsible for the payment of any BCU/UKCC
Course fees on succsesful completion of a certified course.

This is
payable at the end of the course.

In any
circumstances where the fee is not paid, and no arrangements
are made to pay the fee the students name willl not be
enteredd onto the Course shedule and the BCU will not
be notiified of Course attendance resulting in no certificate
will being issued.
Course pre-requisites and BCU
registration -
- In any event where pre-requisits
are required, such as BCU courses, it is the responsibility
of the customer to ensure that these are in place before
course commencment.
- It is the responsibility
of the customber to ensure that they are registered with
the BCU in advance of any Coach or Leader course. please
refer to the BCU website: www.bcu.org.uk
- In the event that a custonmer
turns up to a course with out the required pre-requisites
or BCU registration there course fee will be forfieted.
