SIT-ON-TOP KAYAKING

Sit-on-Top Kayaks are fun and safe; if you fall in, you just climb back on and you probably won't even get your hair wet, unless you want to of course! Our qualified and experienced coaches will guide you through the fundamentals then either lead you though playing games in the sun or take you off on a trip to explore some of the islands superb locations. With each you get a certificate to mark your achievement.

You could even enjoy the day sharing a double SOT Kayak and young children are welcomed, whether they can swim or not as we have special life jackets and with our experience we can include them in the fun.

We always aim to provide a very personal service with our kayaking courses and trips keeping to a very small coach to student ratio, you will be in a group of between four and six people, and it is often possible to arrange a personal experience if there are two of you.
     
 
 
 

IWSK SOT Level 1

A two hour introduction to the fundamental aspects of kayaking will have you playing a few games and more than likely getting fairly wet while meeting new people and having a lot of fun. A short journey may be a part of your time on the water.

IWSK SOT Level 2

Having taken part in a IWSK Level 1 course or having had some experience of SOT kayaking, this three hour course will guide you through more advanced equipment and how to use it. We will introduce you to surfing and rock hopping, while exploring caves and cliffs on a short journey. We will look at self rescues and rescues of others. This course includes all equipment.

IWSK SOT Safety and Rescue Course

Sit-on-Top Kayaking is, with a bit of training, a very safe activity. Our safety and rescue course looks at setting the scene of prevention is better than cure, and planning to avoid incidents; however things go wrong, so we will show the skills of towing, self rescues, assisted rescues and rescuing others. This one day course will cover all you need to safely paddle with a group
Prerequisite ability: IWSK L1 or some experience

Coastal Planning and Navigation

This course will give you the knowledge and experience to confidently plan coastal trips on the sea. It includes weather, tides, buoyage, timings and navigation.

It includes a short on the water session to put things into context.
Prerequisite ability: Beginner Sea Kayak or IWSK SOT L1
Cost: £70 Dates: All year round
   
 

1:1 Coaching

This day is set by you, covering what you want to cover. With dedicated one to one coaching from a highly qualified and experienced coach you will progress quickly, with your skills and knowledge advancing at a pace that suits you.
