Aims
and objectives:
• To assist
in the facilitation of all young people to have access and
entitlement to an outdoor education experience during full
time education.
• To provide a service that will help individuals to
achieve their potential in academic and personal development.
• To provide stimulating learning environments, in which
young people are secure, valued, learn effectively and co-operate
with others.
• To support individuals in raising their self-esteem,
self-confidence, develop initiative and enterprise and encourage
awareness and respect for others.
• To teach and support young people to develop knowledge,
skills, ideas and understanding through a range of appropriate
outdoor education experiences.
• To facilitate the active involvement of young people
in evaluating their progress through reflection and review.
• To provide high quality teaching and learning resources
specific to the needs of individuals, groups and schools.
• To assist schools in providing a curriculum that is
broad, balanced, challenging and meets the needs of schools,
young people and the community.
• To assist in the continuing development of individuals
in the form of school – club links and school –
career links via our extensive professional networks.
We are a mobile
service provider; this gives a huge advantage over statically
located providers. We aim to bring our service to the school
rather than the school to the service, allowing us to effectively
incorporate whole school standards, and correcting the main
down fall of many Outdoor Education providers which is the
ability to transfer positive work done offsite back into the
school environment.
Our service is wide ranging and adaptable; aiming to build
effective working relationships with schools to facilitate
the kind of interaction that makes real differences to the
lives of children and the community as a whole.
Recent projects
include working with an Isle of Wight High School on a project
called "threading the needles”; a regular series
of kayaking lessons with the goal being to paddle out to the
needles and providing a multi-activity residential to South
Wales for a School for children with Specific Learning Needs. |
